CAT is opening their doors for you to see the theatrical wonders inside. Meet their wonderful team, tour through their facilities, and find out about the magnificent shows they are presenting this season. There is so much to find out about CAT. Join us!

Central Alberta Theatre (CAT) welcomes all community members to CATena Open House on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Memorial Centre auditorium. Free and part of Alberta Culture Days, this event is your chance to explore the magic of theatre, meet the people who make it happen, and get a sneak peek at CAT’s upcoming 2025-2026 season. 

Visitors of all ages can enjoy hands-on activities: guests can contribute to a collaborative art piece for Frankenstein, Children can dress up in costumes, and anyone curious can try their hand at running lights and sound in the Studio Theatre, and more! Guided tours will offer a rare look at backstage areas, revealing the hidden side of live theatre. 

There will be a special presentation at the beginning of the event to introduce CAT’s shows starting at 4pm which will be approximately 15 minutes. Then the house will be open for touring. Volunteers will greet visitors at multiple stations, including the theatre space, shop, and costume room. Enjoy karaoke in the lounge, visit CAT’s history booth in the lobby and say hello to the Red Deer Arts Council! The lights and sound show will be in the studio theatre (upstairs, 3rd floor).

Attendees can also enjoy light catering, meet the talented CAT team, and purchase discounted season subscriptions in advance—perfect for theatre lovers eager to secure their seats for the new season.
