Casting A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol is a fast-paced musical performed by a small ensemble of actors who play 30 characters and sing songs. The story is set in London, England (1843).
At the audition
After actors present their monologues if they have expressed interest in being considered for A Christmas Carol rather than giving them a side to read I will direct them to perform 20 seconds of their monologue in different ways. Their ideas or my ideas – we will just play!
If Actors want to prepare for the audition
Create a 1minute montage playing 3-4 characters. Monologue or dialogue=-the context doesn’t matter.
Important note:
I am looking for potential at the audition. We will have an 8-week rehearsal period to create the characters together in rehearsal.
